Day 8
weight 156.5
1/2 pound more makes my loss for the 1st week 3 1/2 pounds down total. Not bad at all. I had a very hard time losing even that before starting this plan.
So what I noticed the first week on the plan. Definitly loss in appitite. I felt I could probably eat one meal yesterday but didn't. I don't want to starve myself. I've had a slight head ache for a couple days, nothing major and could be coming down with something because 2 of my kids had a cold.
Woke up and had my ELOO this morning at 9:50. Am just now having my coffee. I will have my breakfast at noon or so then have a dinner later. I don't plan on anything more than that today. OH, I made blueberry pancakes for the family this morning and I had none. I wasn't even tempted to taste it!
I recommend anyone trying this plan. It's very easy to do and doesn't cost a lot of money. Again I mix 1 tbsp oil with just a little cold water and down it goes. After that I put little more water in the cup and swirl it to make sure I get all the oil. Just Google shangri-la diet and you will get all the info you need. I was reading about it again last night because it is very inspiring and I can't wait for the 1st month to go by :-)
This plan is still a secret at my house. I want to see if anyone will notice I'm losing weight before I tell them what I'm doing.

Day 7
Weight 157
ANOTHER POUND DOWN!!!!!! My scale isn't digital and it actually looks like another one & half pounds down but I'm only making the pound official
Very excited about this. It is the diet I prayed for, really. I was feeling desperate because my body is going through the change. I had a VERY hard time restarting the low carb diet (Atkins). I didn't want to eat that much meat to start. And low calorie was hard too because I felt hungry much of the time. Even though the Shangri-La Diet is low calorie, you don't notice because no hunger. It really is amazing so far-3 lbs in 6 days.
Definitely a decrease in appetite. I don't feel the night time hunger I had before starting. I also think there may come a time that one meal a day may be enough. The oil is easy going down and doesn't gross me out.
Jumped on the trampoline 40 minutes yesterday. This is probably the funniest exercise I've done. It is a 14 foot trampoline and I get a great workout. I sweat more on this thing than I did walking/running on the treadmill. We've had it about a month now and I've been on it everyday. By the way, I lost NO weight doing the trampoline the first few weeks we had it so I don't think the weight loss is from that. Also my hunger was greater before starting the Shangri-la plan.
Just an Update for today-I didn't have breakfast till 12:30. I wasn't hungry so decided to go out shopping then came home and ate. I will have a dinner later and that may be all for the day. If I continue eating like this I just may vanish :-)
Update Update-3:50 took my 2nd dose ELOO and I have a feeling of full. I will go jump on the trampoline soon then eat dinner which will be chicken, artichoke hearts, spinich & sundried tomatoes blended with balsamic vinegar dijon mustard and herbs-yummmy.

Day 6
Weight 158
Yea another pound!! 2 lbs in 6 days. So far so good and I have to say, this is pretty easy. I hope the weight continues to melt off.
This morning instead of taking the oil right away, I took vitamin C crystals and have a cup of coffee. I have been constipated, (think the oil would help there)and the Crystals will literally clear me out with-in and hour. I'm sure when that is done, it will be another pound gone ;-)
Yesterday I did well on eating with hardly an appitite. I WAS able to get by at night with a cereal snack. Later this morning I will take the oil.
So now the ladybug moves up the worm again:-)

Day 5
weight 159
Last night seemed to have lots of energy because I spent a few hours rearranging the family room. after ALL that, it was put back the way it was except for 1 shelf ;-) I'm quite sure I burned a lot of calories though.
What I have noticed so far is that I don't feel as hungry. I wake up and take the oil then wait an hour or so before my morning coffee. An hour after that I have breakfast (usually whole grain cereal)
My afternoon dose I'm still adjusting time wise. I've been taking it around 2pm but today I will wait till 5 or 6. I think it might help with the hunger I get later at night. I wake up at 7am and go to bed at midnight, sometimes later so I get hungry.
I had lunch today at 1:15 and am now having a cup of coffee and still feel very full (it's now 3.06. What I had was very filling to begin with. It was refried beans, chicken breast (shredded), tomatoes, halapeno peppers, black olives, and little shredded lettuc. I used to put cheddar cheese in it but I didn't and don't miss it at all. the meal is a burst of flavor. I'm planning to only have a snack tonight. I really think the oil is helping and can see where this could really work.
I'm hoping for a loss in the morning

Day 4
Weight 159
I will take my oil and eat pretty much the same as the past couple days. I find that for me, I don't eat a great variety of foods. It's kind of the same few things everyday. It's what I feel like eating-so I do.
I won't be listing my calories or many meals because that is NOT what the shangri-la diet is about.
I will also take my 2nd dose of EVOO after Dinner. Maybe I will be less likely to pick at night
Notice below I was able to move my ladybug over 1 pound :-) 29 to go

Day 3
Weight 160
A little disappointed that no pounds lost so far but I know it's comming :-)
7:15 1tbsp oil & water
8:40 coffee (30)
10:47 1.5 c cereal 1c milk (330)
1:00 still have a "full" feeling. Was going to take oil but decided will wait till after my next meal.
I did plan on having my cereal right after coffe but didn't want it then.
2:15 had sandwich like yesterday and c low carb ice cream
4:15 oil
Had cereal again for dinner and later for a snack had puffed corn. The puffed corn is low in calories and has a good crunch. I also sprinkle a little splenda on it.
Again seems like a low calorie day.

The Start Of My Diet
Today I'm starting the Shangri-la Diet by Dr. Seth Roberts.
A little about me-
Start weight 160
goal weight 130 but would love 120
age 45
mom to 6 kids
In the past, I have been on low carb. It worked for me and I was at my lowest point-132. I listed my goal above at 130 but my real dream is 120. I would LOVE for once in my life to be "skinny". I would LOVE to go into a store and have everything I try on look good!
When I was 19 or so I bought a pair of pants and I loved them so much that I also bought the next size down. I STILL have those pants and they are still "new" ;-)
I will start with ELOO (extra light olive oil) 2-3 times per day. I'm scared to take the sugar water because what I learned about on low carb diets.
Today got up early and had 1 tbs ELOO for the first time. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I mixed it with just a couple oz of water. It went right down and didn't gag me. I noticed afterwords that my lips felt soft due to the oil.
I had another dose of oil before bed.
